Answered FAQ

Clear answers before you trust a legal tool with your summons.

Start with the deadline, support check, and self-help boundary. Payment only comes after you preview the path for your saved case.

Pricing: File-Ready Answer Packet - $60. Defense Workspace - $99. No subscription.

Is Answered a law firm?

No. Answered is self-help legal software operated by ellaSiD LLC. It is not a law firm, does not represent you, does not appear in court for you, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. It helps you organize facts, review legal information, and generate self-help documents from information you confirm.

Do I have to pay before seeing my deadline?

No. Start free with your state and service date, then confirm the case details from your summons. Answered shows deadline orientation and whether the workflow appears supported before you choose a paid packet.

What happens after I pay?

You unlock the paid workspace for your saved case. For the Answer Packet, the next steps are to generate or open the packet, review names, court, case number, and facts, sign where marked, file with the court, serve the plaintiff or plaintiff attorney, and save proof. Payment does not file anything automatically.

Will Answered file for me?

No. You file and serve the documents yourself unless a separate mail-filing add-on is available and you choose it. Answered gives filing and service checklists, reminders, and proof-saving steps so the process is more concrete.

What if my state is not supported?

Answered should not sell you a packet for an unsupported workflow. If the support check blocks checkout, use the free resources shown for your state, such as court forms, legal aid, or ABA Free Legal Answers, and verify your deadline with the summons, court, legal aid, or a licensed attorney.

What if I do not know my service date?

Choose "I am not sure" or leave the date unconfirmed if the flow offers that option. You can still save the case, but the preview will treat the deadline as unconfirmed until you update it from your papers, docket, clerk, legal aid, or a licensed attorney.

Can Answered help if my deadline is tomorrow?

Maybe, but that is an emergency window. Your response deadline may already be running. If you do nothing, the plaintiff may ask the court for a default judgment. Preparing and filing a response helps you avoid silence, but it does not guarantee a win, dismissal, or that every court or collection consequence stops. Contact the court, legal aid, or a licensed attorney immediately if possible. Use the fastest filing method your court accepts. Self-help software may not be enough when a deadline is this close.

What does the Defense Workspace include?

Defense Workspace - $99. Includes the Answer Packet, plus debt-buyer proof-challenge workflows, next-step tools, playbooks, and case-scoped self-help information using your saved facts, citations, and approved Answered templates; chat does not tell you what to file or predict outcomes, where supported. It is for users who want more than the core Answer Packet, especially debt-buyer proof-challenge workflows and next-step planning where the state and case details support it.

What is Pay-in-3?

Defense Workspace - $99 or $33 x 3 weeks. No interest. No credit check. It splits Defense Workspace into three weekly payments. It is not a credit check and it is not a monthly subscription. Access to new documents can pause if a payment fails until the card is updated.

What will show on my bank statement?

Your Stripe receipt may show ellaSiD LLC, the company that operates Answered. Your card or bank statement may also show ellaSiD LLC, Answered, or Stripe depending on the payment method and issuer.

Can I get a refund?

30-day refund if Answered does not help you prepare your self-help filing. Refunds do not depend on case outcome. Refund requests do not extend court deadlines, undo filings, or depend on whether you win, lose, settle, or dismiss the case. See the refund policy for the full terms.

How is my uploaded summons protected?

Uploaded papers and extracted case facts are treated as private case data tied to your account or anonymous session. Uploads are transmitted over HTTPS, stored in private application storage, and used to extract facts and prepare your case preview and documents. Answered does not sell your data. Limited service providers may process uploads, checkout, email, error logging, or document automation so the product can operate.

Self-help boundary

Answered is self-help legal information and document automation. It does not provide individualized legal advice, legal representation, attorney review, or a guarantee of any court outcome. If you can afford a consumer-rights attorney, hire one.
