Terms of Use
Last updated July 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of Answered, a self-help legal software product operated by ellaSiD LLC. By using Answered, you agree to use the product as self-help information and document automation, not legal representation.
Self-help software only
Answered is not a law firm, does not represent you, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. The product helps you organize facts, review legal information, and generate documents from information you confirm.
You are responsible for reviewing documents, confirming deadlines, choosing what to file, filing with the court, serving other parties, attending hearings, and seeking legal advice when needed.
No outcome guarantee
Answered does not promise dismissal, settlement, court acceptance, debt reduction, credit improvement, or any legal outcome. Courts, clerks, plaintiffs, and judges control what happens in a case.
Deadline estimates and document workflows depend on the facts you enter or upload. You must verify deadlines and filing requirements with your summons, court notices, court record, or clerk.
Accounts and access
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Answered. Answered is for your own consumer debt matter or one you are authorized to help with; do not use it on behalf of someone else’s case without their permission.
You are responsible for maintaining access to the email or account used with Answered. If you start anonymously, you may be asked to provide an email before payment, document download, or account recovery.
Do not use Answered to access another person’s case without permission or to submit false, misleading, or unlawful information.
Eligible use and your responsibilities
Answered supports self-help responses to consumer debt collection lawsuits in supported states and case types only. It is expressly not for business debt, post-judgment matters, bankruptcy, garnishment defense, appeals, criminal matters, or any case type the product declines at checkout.
You are responsible for the accuracy of every fact you enter or upload, for carefully reviewing and understanding your own documents before signing or filing them, for meeting all court deadlines, and for filing and serving your own papers unless you have separately purchased a service that expressly states Answered will file or mail on your behalf.
You will not misuse the product: no uploading another person’s papers without authorization, no unlawful or fraudulent submissions, no attempts to breach security, scrape at scale, or interfere with the service.
Intellectual property and your content
Answered’s software, templates, content, and brand are owned by ellaSiD LLC and licensed to you for your own self-help use. You may use generated documents for your own case; you may not resell, redistribute, or offer Answered’s templates or content as a competing service.
You retain ownership of the case facts and documents you provide. You grant Answered a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that content solely to operate the service for you (generate documents, estimate deadlines, provide support), as described in the Privacy Policy.
Payments and refunds
Prices are shown before checkout. Stripe or another payment provider may collect payment and receipt information. Add-ons such as Mail Filing or a future paid review pilot may have separate eligibility rules and must show their scope before checkout.
Refund eligibility is described in the Refund Policy. Refunds do not extend court deadlines or undo filings.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law, including any warranty that a document will be accepted by a court, that a deadline estimate is correct, or that any legal outcome will result.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ellaSiD LLC’s aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (i) the total amount you paid to Answered in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (ii) One Hundred U.S. Dollars ($100). In no event shall ellaSiD LLC be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, certain consumer-protection rights).
Dispute resolution and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, or the county of ellaSiD LLC’s principal place of business at the time of the dispute.
Before initiating any formal proceeding, the parties agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting support@ellasid.com and allowing thirty (30) days for good-faith discussions.
These Terms do not require arbitration. You keep the right to bring a claim in court, including small claims court where eligible.
Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force (severability).
These Terms, together with the Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Answered regarding the service.
Changes and availability
Supported states, document workflows, add-ons, prices, and features may change. Some cases or court tracks may be blocked or require manual review if automation is not safe for the facts provided.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
